“Raising the Bar: Child Welfare’s Shift Toward Well-Being:

The Center for the Study of Social Policy published “Raising the Bar: Child Welfare’s Shift Toward Well-Being” in July 2013.  This piece describes how a child’s well-being is intertwined with their safety and permanent relationships.

As we build those crosswalks on our campuses and out in our communities, it is important to reflect on how we can create and sustain those protective factors, such as housing, mental health, career-linked employment experiences, collaborative engagement of internal and external partners, and opportunities for these students to thrive.  This piece offers examples of current practices, and includes a call to action on the policy level.
